Old Town Square

Prague, Czech Republic view map

Looking east at the Old Town Square. In the center, the famous statue of Jan Hus is wrapped in scaffolding for renovation.
Influenced by the writings of John Wycliffe, Hus preached against Church corruptions such as Papal schism and indulgence. He was burned at the stake as a heretic on July 6, 1415. Today, July 6 is a Czech national holiday.
Behind it is the Kinsky Palace.Kinsky Palace
