This is the Nefertari Temple. Dedicted to Hathor it is a miniature in scale compared with the huge Ramesside mass to its left. It is surprisingly delicate, with several of Nefertaris daughters shown at knee height. Nefertari and Ramesses are shown at the same height which is exceptional. Nefertari may have been Nubian and has been carved with outstanding skill. Both temples now face a fore court which extends across the faces and during the day become crowded. In summer the temperatures are very high.
