Rhin/Rhone canal

5 Aug. 2007: the only decent pic I took on my Fried Carp ride (I only took two). An hour into the ride, eight o'clockish and still cool. It looks idyllic but the tree-roots were beginning to raise the tarmac, making for short sharp shocks every few metres. Only 220 km to go.

I like the mist and the depth. Our nemesis is more usually uneven concrete sections or frost heave. Bruised palms and rear can effectively divert one's mind from idyllic to m....! Isn't it time to taper?

I'll have to agree with it looking idyllic but I don't know about the bumps - can't see them!
