To me, it feels like a person looking out the window/door. They're gazing...into the future? The past? I like the crystal ball metaphor--adds yet another layer.
Everything in this image is abstracted by soft focus. You invite us to view the "future" in the crystal ball-like globe, yet what see is not clear. But then the future never is, is it? The old screen and wicker chair suggest the past. The soft leaves growing just outside suggest the present. The globe implies the future. Nice convergence, Patricia.
