I always find these kinds of places fascinating in their own ecologically messy way.

Wow Frank - what a place, I'm used to the old mine workings in Cornwall, but they're tiny compared to this colourful mess.
best wishes

Great shot Frank,
I grew up in SW Pennsylvania and spent time in West Virginia. This definitely reminds me of the creeks back there. Simpson Creek by Mayf Nutter contains the line "Simpson Creek won't ever run clean again, sulfur water runs red where the big fish used to swim."
Today these streams have been cleaned up and now hold fish once again. Took them awhile but they cleaned up their act.

Amazing shot Frank. I've never been up to the Iron Range of Minnesota to see the results of mining up there. I know it's not been nearly as many years but, this is quite a look into the future for everyone.
