The end of the line for people deported to this death camp
At this “selection platform”, a few able body men were selected as slave labors, while most of the arrivals from each train would be sent directly to the gas chambers.
In the background, in front of the trees, are the ruins of the destroyed Birkenau gas chambers and crematoriums.
