At 6 feet tall and about 25 pounds over my "fighting weight," I was completely overwhelmed by the claustrophobic conditions suffered by submariners. I could barely maneuver the hatchways without hurting one or another part of my body. The ship is a very efficiently designed, but extremely cramped venue for serving ones country.
