My first attempt at a time-lapse panorama from sunrise to sunset.
This is only a rough composite in PhotoShop to study the effect: No corrections
and no dedicated stitching program.
I discovered several factors that might make a repeat project much more successful.
This panorama pans from NE through S to NW.
Began at 40° NE and ended at 300° NW. Camera was rotated 15° with each exposure.
AV mode used with bracketing to allow for changing light during the day.
I didn't realize how far the path of the sun goes into the south to interfere with
pictures near the end of the sequence. Sunrise would have had the same problem,
had it not been obscured by clouds. The transition from dark to day needs to be
spread out over a greater range of the image. This will be relatively easy to
do since I have 3 bracketed exposures of each position.
If I were to do this again, I would pan through N and keep the
sun behind the camera all day except close to sunrise and sunset
when it comes into camera view.
I would also probably use fewer images at a larger angle change
so that I would have more sky/clouds for the transitions.
Also, calculating my times of sunrise and sunset were from tables
found on the internet. Theoretical sunrise/sunset is significantly
different from visual at a specific site. Sunrise probably later and
sunset earlier than predetermined.
