A Fine Automobile of the 1940's

Historical Society Depot - Pauls Valley, OK

This is a 1940 Chevrolet Coupe. Note the running board. Running boards were not on Chevrolet cars after World War II. These cars had a vacumn assisted column mounted shift lever which made it possible to shift gears with one finger. The car also had a crank slot at the bottom of the grill which allowed a person to manually crank start the car.
