Day OFF?

Wednesday's are a day I use to go to nursing homes,finish paperwork,etc.
Occasionally we make it a family afternoon.
We don't do these enough so they are precious to me.
The boys are really getting into the kneeboard and really love going to the lake.
Heading for the lake today I was watching the trailer tires in the mirrors
(a habit I learned aftter spinning a bearing at midnight on labor day in Memphis Tenn.)
Anyway I saw the tire start to do things I knew it shouldn't be doing
I stopped the truck just passed a busy intersection to see the tire ready to fall off the spindle.
Another bearing gone bad.
I felt the anger welling up.
Called my father-in-law(the one I bragged about a few days earlier) He dropped what he was doing and was there in 20 minutes.
Still my mind asked Why always on my time off? .........................

Then I remembered 2 of my patients/friends that were both diagnosed with cancer earlier that week.
I also saw 15 people this morning all of whom would love to trade me places.

SELF PITY is a stealer of joy

Cristi said "smile" so I stuck out my tongue
but I smiled on the inside!!

Ya know, I feel your pain but you were still off, still with your boys, and don't have cancer. It's a great day. ;)

Great thoughts. I know the bearing woes all too well.

All too true. Hope the boys had some fun on the lake after the trailer issue was resolved.
