I’ve made a personal promise to cease commenting on my photos, (I just don't have enough time). But here I must make a comment. First, I’ve done nothing to the colors, but, I have used filters to create blurs and glows.
I’ve made several trips to Parfrey Glen over the years and have yet to come away with an image that I consider good enough to display. (That streak continues). However, I feel that I should introduce some of the beauty of this place. It has a micro-clime that is similar to one several hundred miles to the north. It’s dark, dank, tumbled rocks, a small stream, narrow, and not very long. The rocks are conglomerates, covered in moss and lichens. Ferns and other plants abound. Stepping into this place is like stepping into a long forgotten past. It’s almost like being in a cathedral.
It’s located in the Baraboo Hills and isn’t far from Devil’s Lake State Park. (In fact, there’s a trail that connects the two). Most people don’t know about this place yet those who do know, come back time-and-time again. (Yesterday, I spoke to a family from Illinois who vacation up here every year. They mentioned they’ve been coming here for 16 years and just discovered this place).
While editing it, I noticed the rocks on the right resemble a skull. Am I seeing things?
