Thank you for the additional information :-) I am fascinated by Anne de Bretagne, 3 times queen.

Oh, added to my comment above, the Institut de France - [ the Site Managers of the Chateau de Langeais ], ordered the creation of this Tableau for the 1991 Anniversary of the Royal Marriage, - very significant to Breton Nationalists because 1491 was the year Brittany was effectively annexed by the greedy and ambitious French Kings, following an overwhelming military defeat for the Bretons at the Battle of St Aubin de Cormier in 1488. Duchess Anne [now Queen-Dowager] re-established independence for her Duchy immediately following the death of Charles VIII, - [who'd reneged on his pre-marital promise to allow his new Queen to continue ruling her Duchy], and Reigned once more over an internally independent Brittany until she died in 1514 [Queen of France for a 2nd time after marrying King Louis XII] The source for the identification info here, and in my previous Post, was Madame Amèlie Delaunaye, the "Responsable" at the Chateau.

To make thing more interesting, for viewers, - the Priest [one of two officiating at this hasty and near-secret Marriage on 6th december, 1491,- the other is behind the King] represents Bishop Louis D'Amboise, then we have King Charles VIII of France, [aged 21]; the Ruling Duchess Anne De Bretagne, [aged 14!] and kneeling, her longtime nurse-companion Madame Françoise de Dinan, Dame de Chateaubriant; then, standing on the right, another of the Duchess Ladies in Waiting, the Dame de Laval. The Historians engaged by the Institut de France to create the Tableau did a great job on likenesses and clothing - no exp[ense was spared. Around his neck, King Charles wears an exact copy of the Collar of the Order of St. Miocheal which he is depicted as wearing in one of the early portraits of him. There are a total of 14 effigies in the Tableau, and 13 were identified by a contemporary report to the Pope, - and have been re-created by the researchers.
