A few years back I gave my dad the most pitiful looking snow ball bush
I felt sorry for it...on clearance at Magic Mart
I told Dad I got him a plantling and he automatically started
half grumbling about how he had his hands full keeping the Japanese beetles off his fruit trees
but when I handed him the lil snow ball bush
he got a strange look on his face and asked me "...why a snow ball bush?"
I said I didn't really know
and then he told me that he'd planted one on Trish's grave..it was her favorite...
Trish was his ultimate SweetHeart...she died in his arms from an allergic reaction to an antibiotic
...so he planted the little snow ball bush out front where he can see it from his favorite chair
It still hasn't bloomed but I noticed that he's been doctoring it
and I saw a little woman in it's branches while I wandered around taking pictures on Father's Day
