Great photo--even if it makes me feel sad. Would have been happy without the "glow spot".

Excellent capture - great interpretation for the theme! I like the colored light - it emphasizes the distance between them.

I like how the woman is drinking under the picture of a wine glass. This reminds me of your hobbies of wine tasting and beach combing (the man is combing the classifieds). Your photo is multi-dimensional - at first viewing they look emotionally distant but later I see the amber glow as the radiant energy of their bond. They can't see the glow but we can. When they look away from one another, their world goes gray. We can tell there is still some heat in their relationship although they seem to be off in their own worlds.
Your photo is fantastic accomplishment.

Wow.... thank you all for the kind words!! I really appreciate it. This photo was originally in full color and I converted it to black and white leaving just a trace of color behind. I had my particular ideas about why I did that and I could explain, but I'd rather everyone form their own opinion and process the image in his/her own way. Again, thanks everyone!

As my old sensei might say,
don't examine the process
experience the result.
Or, to quote someone's DPR signature,
Nice meal, what kind of pots did you use?

let me ponder that, but i"d love to see it undoctored
I think sometimes undoctored reality speaks louder than photoshop

Pearl, I have to say I disagree totally with you about the *aura*. To me it's the difference between a good idea & a work of art.
No matter how it was arrived at.

what can I say that would not be redundant? This is a winner. It captures a moment that says it all; hence, I personally don't need the yellow. It's too forced for me. I assume you photoshopped it in? I can come to that conclusion all on my own. The B/W, yes!! Kudos. Pearl

Nice shot. Could also be named...So Close, Yet So Far Away

This is fabulous! Shades of Sandy Skogland.
That aura between them is...well, out of this world.
