This 3 arch 210 foot aqueduct allowed canal boats pulled by mules to cross the creek as it fed into the Potomac.
A canal accident here in 1920 knocked out part of the canal (everyone, included the mules survived) and later floods did more damage.
Today the National Park Service has plans to restore this section of the canal and possibly have mules pulling the boats once again.
