The French exhibit of paintings on loan from 40 galleries in France closed its New Orleans showing at midnight and there were people until the last second.
Following Hurricane Katrina the French government, because of the long standing ties between Louisiana and France, wanted to do something to help the city of New Orleans. The exhibit titled "Femme, Femme, Femme" contained paintings showing the lives of women in the end of the 18th century; their lives in the home, in the fields, in the workplace and in the arts. It was one of the most beautiful exhibits I have ever seen.
Merci, France.
