Most trips to the jungle start here, at the airstrip at Shell. Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) has a hangar here. This is the mission that Nate Saint flew with. Nate was one of the five missionaries killed by Auca tribesmen in January of 1956. The other missionaries were Jim Elliot, Roger Youderian, Ed McCully, and Pete Fleming.
