Today was every bird photographers nightmare. We took a walk along the Nanaimo River to the ferry dock at Jack Point, it is a long rocky trail with lots of stairs and being hot I decided to only take my wide-angle 16-35mm lens. Halfway there what do I spot at the tide line in the estuary not one but over 20 Bald Eagles feeding and bathing, right next to them a group of about 30 Great Blue Herons and here I am on the bank with a 16-35 mm lens. I was just spitting nails. Oh well it was a joyous day and a good walk and there is always tomorrow
