This is my favorite. I am drawn to the almost monocramtic quality as I prefer simplicity. I also appreciate the composition. The vertical axis is nicely divided with only the top third of the frame consisting of actual surf. The sun's rays are not striking and rigid, but rather fluid, mimicking the form of the sea. Horizontally, the waves' recession creates a dramatic contrast of light and dark in lower left foreground, emphasizing the coming of dawn. The shot invokes emotion. Wonder, mystery and delight of nature.
