Yesterday I saw a gambel quail with 3 chicks. Each of them had 2 plumes, shaped like a V. Also the bodies were very dark brownish grey, stripe almost unintelligible. Only one parent was with the chicks, usually I see both parents. Most unusual. Scottsdale, AZ July 19, 20007
