Life with immediacy to Hadrian's Wall has its drawbacks,this image shows one of them.The farmer wanted to put a pipe drain out of his farm,across the line of Hadrian's Wall.Now in his yard there is no sign at all of the Wall,but still,he had to wait until a team of archaeologists were available,to come and dig the trench,exposing as they did,the foundations of The Wall.Only,when they have satisfied themselves that they have collated any archaeological evidence from the site,can the farmer put in his drain.
