Well, too bad, timing is everything! I was just driving through the Tuba City area on my way back home from a photo shoot up north and took a chance on a visit to one of my favorite canyons. In spite of the bad "time of day" I tried a few shots but the noon time illumination just doesn't work in Coalmine Canyon. The "high noon" illumination was much worse than I imagined. This picture does not bring out the natural colors present in the canyon compared to what can be achieved around 3:30 PM (3:30 PM to 4:30 PM seems to be about optimum time for this particular part of the canyon.
