I remember seeing these and some of the other plants on this site in woods I used to play in when I was a kid. When I was about 13 they mowed down all the trees and burned them and left the lot bare for - well, most of the area still isn't built on even now. It is horrible. It's been like that way for 32 years now. I always wondered why they couldn't have just left it as it was till it was actually needed.
