We rode up from the village of Babu Sar (9,300 ft) where we had spent the night to the 13,690 ft Babu Sar Top. Looking behind us and down towards Chilas were layer upon layer of the brown gray mountains of Kohistan. Looking ahead (southeast - this view) we could see the valley of Kaghan and the thin silver ribbon of the Kunhaar River. Eastward were the snow covered peaks of the Himalaya's. The air had been hot and stale two days before in Chilas. Now, on the Babu Sar Top, snowflakes were beginning to fall.
