Battus laodamus

The males of this species did not seem to want to perch for us, which seems to be typical of some swallowtails. The guide book to Mexican butterflies just arrived, and we were intersted to see that the identification photo in the book is blurry, as the butterfly was fluttering when the shot was taken. Sometimes, even the condition of the photo in the guide book can tell you something about the species' behavior.
