I'm really happy with how this shot turned out.

It started with just wanting a single light source to illuminate the razor.
A single 28" softbox overhead was the starting point.

Some 50+ shots later, I ended up with this.

The softbox is still overhead, but it's now double diffused with a round translucent screen.
There's a sheet of black posterboard under a sheet of plexiglass for the base.
Another sheet of black posterboard is used for the backdrop.
And yet another sheet of black posterboard is being used as a flag to block off the softbox light from hitting the backdrop.

I have a second strobe to camera right with a blue gel and grid spot for the backdrop light,
and a third strobe with a red gel camera left for the glow underneath.

The main light is fired by sync cable and the other two by optical slaves.

Whew!
