the cultivation.jpg

Luxor

It is almost possible to stand with one foot in the cultivation and the other in the desert. The edge of the cultivation marks the limit of the old Nile innundation, now cut off by the Aswan high dam.
Ramesseum, lower right, Colossi of Memnon in the ground haze, lower left of the yellow baloon.

Lenka has commented that the Colossi are off shot. She is correct. Wazza shreaded every pixel to confirm it. Age related degeneration, thats what it is. BTW take a look at Lenkas site : http://www.st-maat.org/
It is gorgeous. Ed.

Sorry about forgetting to sign in the first time round. And many thanks for adding the link to our Deir el-Medina website! I will be back for more, this is an excellent source.

The Colossi are out of sight here, you can only see the site of Amenhotep III temple. The yellow balloon is approaching Medinet Habu. They are absolutely fantastic photos!
