This offshore lighthouse stands on a submerged sandbank (formerly an island) in the middle of the Jadebusen (Jade Bay). In 2003 the tower was listed by the federal government as a historic building. Located about 5 km (3 mi) south of Wilhelmshaven; distantly visible from the Wilhelmshaven waterfront and many other locations around the roughly circular bay. Accessible only by boat.
