The loose flowering orchid is one of the most common species of orchids that I have come across in this region... Now, in April, fields are full of them and they grow between the vines. The most common variety is a deep purple but some are pink, green or white. I presume that these are genetic modifications but they make for a great snapshot.

ps. This one is for Rob Vrijburg... who loves the black variety... Mind you, this is still purple...
