Not Those Darn Milk Bottles Again!
by PFC2001

My Basement

I tried incorporating the advice I received on the other pictures that I posted. I cut down on the amount of light coming into the bottles from below.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. This will be the last shot I post of these milk bottles. I promise. I've learned quite a bit about setting up this shot and about my new camera and I'm looking forward to the next challenge.

Sony DSC-F717
Used a Lava Lamp base, a shoe box and a piece of black cloth as a light source beneath the bottles. Each bottle was shot individually and the final image was assembled in Microsoft Image Composer. full exif

Just a follow-up on keeping the old comments with a new photo. It may be easier to simply repost all the comments together as one comment but include the original date for each comment. However, I seem to recall a much earlier thread where there was some discussion about the appropriateness of old comments being attached to a new picture, so you may want to keep this in mind as well. - R.J. Steve I like you milk bottle photos - this one in particular. As to keeping the comments. If there is not a more direct method, and you have not already thought of it yourself, one simple way is to copy the comments into your text editor, delete the photo and then post the old comments back one at a time with the new photo. - R.J. Thanks SB, Bev and WC. Is there a way to replace an image without losing the comments? Or... is deleting the current image and posting another the only way?

Regards,
Steve

This is a good finish as the light from the lava lamp is no longer distracting. I feel like I know these bottles personally by now :). The strong border doesn't do it for me though as it appears to box the main image in. Maybe a sample of the background colour several degree's lighter. For this background that would be... uh, a darkish grey I guess. It just seems the border is competing w/the main image. That's my take on it anyhoo. Glad to see you're enjoying the Challenge's. - SB

Ah! The best one yet in your series of milk bottle pictures! The lighting here is just right IMO!
