Steyning West Sussex

Chantry Green Lane....a quiet corner of the village.
Smugglers Cottage has a tiny gable window where a light was used as a silent warning that the excise men were in town.
A 17th century sword was discovered in the thatched roof when it was removed in the 1920s.
