Tim's cranes

Manzanar Historic Monument

Before visiting this monument, Tim May created these paper origami cranes and displayed them
before the monument in the cemetery. The crane is a sign of peace.

This is a powerful image that speaks of remembrance, dedication, and survival The sharp angles of the monument accentuated in your image and the stones on the monument are reminders to me of the harsh realities of internment and Tim's cranes represent the promise of peace and harmony. It is said that 1000 origami cranes make a wish come true. Visiting Manzanar, your wish must be never to let this happen again. I think your image communicates this.
