Sunset over Bancroft

The sun was setting as Nate was climbing ending our day in a red alpenglow. We rapped to the base of the climb, sorted our gear and walked to the car. A couple hours and a pitstop later and I was totally KO’d as Nate drove us home. I only wanted to sleep for an hour, but I woke up 2 hours later as we pulled onto Nate’s street. 30 minutes later I was sound asleep with a great trip behind me. Thanks, Nate, for getting me out climbing up there and for the solid belay and beta.

Sadly, I think the ice season for me is ended, but at least it went out the way it should have! Next year!!!

yeah, i'll be picking up a couple more pins. It feels fairly rewarding to pound one of those things in and climb over it. And thanks for the driving beta.

Here's some more beta. 2-3 Lost Arrows and 1-2 Knifeblades will serve you well if you don't have them.
The other piece of beta - try to make the drive back along highway 28 before it gets dark. Once you get back to the 115 it's OK but that windy single-lane 28 with no reflectors or road markings covered in snow and oncoming headlights blinding me on the turns used to scare me more than the thin ice I went to climb.

=) I appreciate it, Nate. I gotta say it was a tonne of fun and I learned a bit, too. I'm wondering if i should get a couple more pins????
