I’ve been talking with Todd (toddono) about shooting one last roll of Kodachrome. The daddy of colour photography, most of the my family's archives from the 60’s where shot on it, as was much of my early SLR photography. Paul Simon even sang a song about it. Then they invented the one hour lab and that was it for slides as far as I was concerned. But recently I discovered a passion for photographic artefacts. (My Oxford Mini dictionary defines an artefact as a man made object, which is odd as nowadays artifact (US spelling) seems to mean the nasty bits of jpg compression, over sharpening or digital noise, ie, the bad stuff that happens when you trust a computer with your pictures) No artefacts like slides, negs, and recently polaroids. Real touchy feely things. So Todd and I have decided to shoot one last roll of Kodachrome before it and it’s process are gone forever. That’s not the end of slides tho as I intend to keep shooting Provia in the Rollei and EBX in the Pentax just as long as I can...! Oh and B&W neg and Polaroids too!
