Day 5

Margot Perot Center, Dallas, Tx

Today was both a hard day, and a good one.

Roxanne checked out of the hospital, and it was TERRIBLY difficult to leave Anthony behind.
But we got her home and relaxed for awhile. (Her mother had pizza delivered to us after she'd left. Do I have the greatest mother-in-law or what?) Then this evening we headed back for his 8:00 feeding.

There we discovered he'd pulled the nose feeding tube out by himself (something he'd been trying to do ever since :30 after it'd been put in!) and managed 6 bottle feedings for the day. He didn't finish the feeding we did at 8:00 but that's probably because he was just full. The nurses told us he was up 20oz OVER his indicated total for the day!

Everything else is looking good. Hopefully we get to bring him home on Monday.

BTW: Just looked at the file numbers, turns out this was the 3000th picture I'd taken with this camera. Nice milestone!

Well I don't blame him for trying to pull the feeding tube out. That must be dreadfully uncomfortable. Indicates he's a smart baby with a mind of his own already.

Hooray! I'm glad to hear that improvement has been consistent and rapid. Keep it up!

Anthony is a handsome little fellow and this picture captures that fragile beauty of a new baby. Welcome home, Anthony. Down, Zeeka, down!
