This morning Anthony was in the NICU with rapid respiration that gave everyone significant worries. We couldn't hold him, feed him, or do much more than just try and comfort him by touching his skin as he lay in his bed under a high fangled heat lamp.
By 3PM, they had downgraded (upgraded... made better) his condition, and moved him to the Special Care unit, and we all breathed a sigh of relief. We could hold and comfort him without having to wear sterile masks and gowns.
This morning Anthony had to be fed through a tube in his nose for fear of him aspirating liquid as he tried to feed. With his respiration coming down, I was able to feed him off a bottle this evening at around 5, and at 8 this evening, Roxanne was able to feed him as well. Now we're just waiting to see the results on his infection tests, and we MAY be able to take him home on schedule.
Tonight, mother and son are both resting, tired but well. Dad's had a beer and is heading to bed shortly.
