I've driven past this car wash for years.
When I was a kid, my grandparents would get their cars washed here.
It was a special occasion.
I'd get to go along and watch from inside.
The machine would trundle about on a track in the ceiling.
It would circle the car.
First water, then soap suds, then rinse.
I was fascinated by it all.
This was 1965, after all.
None of the original equipment works anymore.
Now there's just the stalls, the vacuum and the spray wands.
If you want the car washed, you gotta do it yourself.
No more automation.
No more show for the kids inside the car...
