Herring Run.

Each year in March millions of Herring migrate along the east coast of Vancouver Island to spawn. The fishing fleet are ready to take their spoils on a moment notice. Depending on the size of the run the Department of Fisheries designate areas and time when the fleet may fish. It can be anywhere from 1 hour to as much as 48 hours that the fishermen have to make their catch and money. Today the fleet were out along with thousands of gulls, sea-lions, eagles, and other marine animals and birds making this a awesome sight to see. No image can possible capture this. The spawn will last for about 3 weeks but for the fisherman it is only a few hours to make a good catch.
