A wonderful image, contrasting the warmth of the sun with the chill snow. My own favorite image of this same subject was made early the next morning (http://www.pbase.com/pnd1/image/75091830 ), offering an entirely different play of light. I stressed the dawn light in the valley between these rocks and that snow. What we see in this comparison is a good example of how the direction of the light source can completely alter the nature of the subject, and influence meaning as well.
