Interesting how we all had a different take on this sign. Yours portrays emptiness...an empty space where a gas station might have been, an old broken hotel sign, a boarded up building, evidence of life that was. Your image gives Death Valley Junction a "ghost town" quality devoid of people and certainly devoid of culture. My photo focuses on the Amargosa Opera House indicating that life and even culture are evident in this remote little outpost, even though gas might not be! The two images together tell an interesting story about the Junction.
