The "Rana'ad" xylophone constitutes the main section of many Southeast Asian ensembles, most famously in the Gamelan and is even used very often in its wooden form for the traditional Thai and Khmer ensembles. Many different spellings for this name exist, for example, "Roneat" in Cambodia. The instrument shown in the photo is a small model with a length of 40 cm.

Das hier gezeigte Xylofon ist ein kleines, 40 cm langes Model eines "Roneat" Xylofons aus Thailand. Ähnliche Xylofone finden sich in Laos, Kambodscha und Myanmar, als auch in größerer Form in den indonesischen Gamelan Ensembles.
