This statue is in front of the old law school building at the University of Kansas. It was installed on Jayhawk Blvd in 1924 and depicts James Green, the first law school dean. The sculptor is Daniel Chester French who is best known for creating the statue of Abraham Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC. "Uncle Jimmy" is still on Jayhawk Blvd even though the law school moved to a new building across campus in 1978.
