Latourell Falls

Columbia River Valley

Fred and I, along with my sister and a very good friend of my brothers, took a few hours this past
weekend to check out the many beautiful waterfalls along the Oregon side of the Columbia River. It was
grey and drizzling--quite a contrast to the sunshine the day before. We donned our jackets and wished
we'd had umbrellas, but did manage to snap a few shots of the waterfalls and indulge in a Multnomah
Falls IPA before heading back for the wedding ceremony at 5pm. This image was taken along the path to
Latourell falls--it was Fred who pointed out the wonderful tree on the left, so I admit I stole his
idea and took this shot. Neither of us took our tripods that day--it was a hurry up and shoot kind of
day and the rain discouraged us from lingering too long in any one place.
Image was leveled and the usual tweaks done in PSCS2 before resizing and sharpening.

acceptional work, the rainy weather brought out the best in the greens :)

A fine image, Barbara, even if you did steal it from Fred--it was worth stealing! I like the many shades of green against the muted tones and the long ribbon of the falls seen through the branches. A different take that successfully departs from the usual way of looking at a waterfall. V
