When I arrived I stayed at Hotel Himalay, which I'd found on the net. A modest place with a vegetarian restaurant, it offers a much more authentically Indian experience than the typical backpackers hotel. Its location is slightly out of the way, north of Park and Sudder Streets, but it is close to a Metro station.
