De stoepa van Bodhnath is de grootste boeddhistische stoepa van Nepal. De oudste stoepa van Bodhnath dateert uit de 7de eeuw. Deze stoepa werd in 1349 door de islamitische sultan Shamsuddin Ilyas vernield. De huidige stoepa is ongeveer vijf eeuwen oud.
