"Possession" is a song written by Sarah McLachlan about an experience she had
with a stalker. When I heard her describe this experience almost 13 years ago,
it was quite bone chilling and moving. She described the raw fear of being the
target of another's uncontrolled obsession by blending words from the stalker's
letters to her with her own to create this very powerful song. With that in mind,
one can easily sense Sarah's feeling as though she was being suffocated by the
intensity of this man's obsession with her.
