The Iskra (left) is an almost exact copy of the Agfa Super Isolette. Both cameras share the same complex automatic film advance system. The shutter may not be fired without a film present. On loading the film and winding the advance knob the camera will detect the start of the film and the advance knob will be de-activated untill the shutter is cocked and fired. The user can then advance to the next frame when the same process will take place,
The Super Isolette was produced between 1954-7.
The Iskra-1 was produced by factory "KMZ" in Leningrad between 1960 and 1963. About 38,722 copies were made. KMZ also produced the Iskra-2 which has an uncoup[ed selenium exposure meter. About 6,118 copies were made between 1961 and 1964.
