This was a challenge on Creativematrix. We were asked to create a mythological creature or a fantasy object
using two elements that are incongruous together. Only one of the elements may be an organic/biological being, the other should be mechanical, mineral, or other non-living type.

A CM member asked if this was a Brazilian Mapping Spider used by explorers to determine how far they can go before the supplies run out - hence the title!
