The Trinity Alps High Route

Trinity Alps Wilderness

This view is from the arete near the summit of Caesar Peak. This one view shows many days of my Trinity Alps High Route. In the center is Canyon Creek, and the starting point is in the upper right at Boulder Lakes. You climb from Boulder Lakes to Mt Hilton in the upper right, follow the terraces to Grizzly Lake. From Griz you climb up to Mirror Pass and descend to Mirror Lake seen in the lower left of this photo. From Mirror lake you climb up to the ledge and walk to Kalmia Pass, seen above Mirror, and continue east/left towards Twin Pine Pass. Kalmia lake sits on tree ringed flat on the arete above Mirror Lake, photo left center. After crossing TPP, you are on the eastern slopes of Sawtooth Peak, seen in the upper left. Smith Lake, the final lake, is behind Sawtooth. Then you reluctantly descend to Canyon Creek, and go home after a weeklong hike with a lifetime of incredible cross country Trinity Alps memories!

Lovely shot. And you hauled an F3 all the way up there! Kudos.
