Just across the street from the Gulf of Mexico, this tree felt the full wrath of the 30 foot tidal surge that Hurricane Katrina brought. The fabric on the tree was left there by the winds of Katrina, probably someone's curtains or bedspread.
The surge wiped out most of the town and killed many people.
